Freelance Tutors Demand Justice: Unpaid Salaries After FEV Tutor and Focus Edumatics Shutdown
The abrupt shutdown of FEV Tutor and Focus Edumatics on January 25, 2025, has left thousands of employees in distress. While 1500 employees received half their salaries and compensation assurances, freelance tutors—who played a crucial role in the company’s success—have been completely ignored. Despite having valid contracts that require a 30-day prior notice and full salary settlement, the company has failed to meet its obligations, leaving many tutors without their rightful earnings.
The Breach of Contract
Our contracts clearly state that:
- The company must inform employees 30 days before termination.
- Salaries must be fully settled before termination.
FEV Tutor and Focus Edumatics did not adhere to these terms. No prior notice was given, and freelance tutors have received no payment for their services. Multiple attempts to contact the company regarding pending salaries have been ignored.
As affected tutors, we must unite and take action to demand what is rightfully ours. Here’s what we are doing:
-
Sending Formal Salary Demand Notices
- We are drafting official emails citing breach of contract and demanding payment.
- The company has been given a set deadline to respond.
-
Legal Action and Labor Complaints
- If the company fails to respond, we will file official complaints with labor authorities.
- A legal team is being consulted to take collective action.
-
Building Awareness
- We are spreading awareness through social media, forums, and legal advocacy groups.
- Affected tutors are encouraged to share their experiences to highlight the injustice.
